STRICTLY DANCING

 

This ever-poular class is a lot of fun and incorporates learning a range of basic dance styles to music from 50s and 60s to the latest zumba and bollywood tracks!

 

THE CLASS


 The easy-to-follow class allows clients from 50 to 99yrs old to enjoy learning dance moves either in a chair or standing up!. Many of our clients comment that they love the music we use as is you feel happy you are motivated to move!

The class is tailored to the clients needs and can include any of the following dance genres:

 

  1. LINE DANCE
  2. ZUMBA
  3. SEQUENCE/ BALLROOM DANCE
  4. SALSA
  5. BOLLYWOOD/ BELLY DANCE

THE STATS

 

A systematic review of 18 studies concerning the physical benefits of dancing for healthy older adults indicated that adults could 'significantly improve their aerobic power, lower body muscle endurance, strength and flexibility, balance, agility, and gait through dancing' (Keogh et al., 2009). The findings of this review also indicated that dance 'might improve older adults' lower body bone-mineral content and muscle power, as well as reduce the prevalence of falls and cardiovascular health risks' (ibid)
