Who is Tina Lloyd?

 Hello!

My name is Tina Lloyd and welcome to our website FIT4LIFEOVER 50!

I will tell you a little bit about myself.

I was brought up in Halesowen in the West Midlands. I grew up with a love of exercise and attended dance classes on a weekly basis. After leaving school I was motivated my experiences at dance school and decided to study dance full-time and achieved a BTECH and A-level in Performing Arts.

Following this, I was privelidged to be given a dance scholarship at the Laban Centre in London and in the year 2000 graduated with a Dance Degree and Professional Diploma in Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

After graduating, I lived in London as a dancer and teacher but missed my family and moved back to the Black Country, where I continued to teach dance in local schools and community centres for a number of years. One day, I was asked to cover an exercise class for a colleague who was unwell. I asked my colleague what age range the class was and she replied "55years old to 95 years old". I was a little hesitant as I had never done anything like that before but I decided to seize the day and said "yes!".........

...I didn't know what to expect but after teaching the class, I could not stop smiling. The clients were friendly and even though many of them suffered with health issues such as arthritis, they had a positive outlook on life and didn't let their disability or age hold them back from achieving their goals. After this lesson, I was hooked and decided to train as a EXTEND EXERCISE TUTOR.

For the past 10 years now, I have specialised in training organisations and teaching exercise, tai chi and dance to older and disabled people and helping them with their health conditions such as Stroke, Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. I continue to love my job. In fact, I don’t think I will ever want to stop!

After founding FIT4LIFEOVER 50 I have worked with the following partner organisations: Age UK, Sunrise Homes, Stroke Association, Accord Housing, NHS, Local Housing Associations and Councils. I hope that you have enjoyed reading about the training and classes that we offer to individuals and organisations and look forwards to speaking to you soon!
